Jenna Younes
Hello Aggies! My name is Jenna Younes and I am a fourth year International Relations major and Human Rights minor here at UC Davis, and I have had the honor of serving as one of your ASUCD Senators for the past academic year! During my time at Davis, I have served as an officer for political, cultural, and academic based Registered Student Organizations (RSO's). This has equipped me with the skills needed to bridge the gap between ASUCD and RSO's. Last year, I was able to organize and host the first ever ASUCD Iftar during Ramadan, in collaboration with 8 RSO's, which had over 250 students in attendance from all different backgrounds. I aim to fund, promote and host even more ASUCD and RSO collaborative events this fall, and if elected again. I was also able to launch the RSO x Coffee House fundraising project allowing RSO's to fundraise right here on campus at the Coho! I look forward to launching initiatives like these in order to create a close relationship between ASUCD and RSOs. I also aim to promote student safety, especially for students activists who have been subject to harassment, stalking, and doxxing. Having experienced this myself, I want to push for more accessible and reliable resources for students to protect themselves and others from this harmful behavior. Lastly, I have worked and will continue to work towards making sure that ASUCD is engaging in financial transparency The ASUCD budget is made up of over 20 million dollars, and my goal is to make sure that students can rely on financial transparency from ASCUD! I am currently working on several projects that I hope to continue if elected again this fall, which I cant wait to share with everyone! I look forward to hearing from students what needs they may have and how ASUCD can help! VOTE WARDA SLATE STARTING NOVEMBER 10TH!
